Britain has an intriguingly diverse coastline. The pageantry
of the white cliffs of Dover, the sun-kissed strands of Cornwall and the
primeval aggression off the west coast of Scotland, all attest to our
wealth of natural resources.
Almost unheralded, the flat estuarial beauty of the Norfolk coast has
a desert-like, barren accent. Then the tide returns to hide the view for
a few hours. Boats sail, birds wade, seals fish before once more, the
desert returns.
