vines at Hugo Vineyards in Australia's McLaren Vale, the year's toil
is safely fermenting away in the winery, and another year of optimism
lies ahead. This is the brave new world of wine. However in the heartland
of France, vintages stay unsold, doomed to an unheralded journey to the
distillery. For generations of French vignerons this may
